Greetings readers, we present to you a simple but long presentation of the topic Righteousness by Faith, and how genuine faith works in the Christian life. 70 page booklet
A Meeting. Righteousness by Faith. Reviving Genuine Faith.
On Thursday at 7:00pm 8th August 2024 at a local SDA Church the Author had a meeting for one hour, about the revival of old light that was given to A. T Jones during the General Conference session in 1888 entitled Righteousness by Faith.
The Lord began this training with me from 2012, in which I slowly learned what “genuine faith” is, using self taught Bible studies and influence from Ellen White and with Ancient Hebrew studies from the Ancient Hebrew Research Center by Jeff Benner. I stumbled across Jeff Benner way back in 2010 when I was frustrated why the KJV Bible has so many word meanings for Hebrew and Greek words. I have since learned to distrust in principle, polysemous word “translations”, however I still greatly admire the purity and accuracy the the KJV as a “translation” albeit sometimes “fuzzy”. Over the years languages have devolved into multiple word meanings, but originally the Edenic picture based Hebrew would have been a pure single basic word meaning for every word context, especially the 2 letter words and the 3 letter words. Over time even God would have allowed confusion with His own Hebrew language after Moses times, who wrote the book of Genesis for example in Ancient Hebrew script.
A good friend of mine Dr Eric Livingstone ( now deceased) of Avondale College as a lecturer in Hebrew and Greek studies influenced me somewhat over the years, but we have very different in our views on Biblical language studies, however Eric did enjoy my passion for Hebrew and Greek studies. He told me to purchase a book by James Barr “Semantics of Biblical Language” in which I read the “child root Hebrew word fallacy chapter” and so I disagreed with everything written in the chapter. I pity scholars like James Barr because only recently in the past 20 years or so, has Ancient Hebrew research been undertaken in Biblical studies. It seems God has preserved Ancient Hebrew Pictographs inside the modern Hebrew letters. And only recently has this research began to filter through conservative and traditional thought.
The fact that Israel wrote using Ancient Hebrew script is evidence by the pictures Dr Kim Young took to confirm Ron Wyatt’s visit to Mt Sinai, a doctor for the Jordan Authorities many years ago.
Here is a picture take by Dr Kim Young around Mt Sinai showing dozens of rocks carved with things like this: three lines. Scratching three lines on rock is not some modern Hebrew word script, but an Ancient Hebrew word, called K. This is the Ancient Hebrew word meaning is “palm” of hand and “palm” of foot.
There is much more evidence that just this one sample, but it is recent research, that Moses wrote in Ancient Hebrew, not modern Hebrew square script, in fact so did the whole of Israel it seems. Such a language was a picture based system.
So Ancient Hebrew words are related, and there are child root and related root words in Ancient Hebrew, a language that is functional, broad and concrete, not as Greek is, a language that is very descriptive, imaginative and detailed.
Over the years pastors have become Hellenized rather than Hebraic in their Bible, affecting their understanding of God and His salvation.
During a recent 4 year battle with a Gnostic Christian, in which we both published on a public forum more than 2,000 posts, I learned that my theory of faith was just a theory and not confirmed, because nobody else had experienced it. I prayed about this and agreed, that unless I find somebody else to agree with this theory of faith, the matter would always be unconfirmed. Science requires confirmation of any theory, by somebody else doing the same experiments, before general acceptance is published.
So on a random day, during July in 2024, the Spirit leading and guiding, I stumbled across a Pastor Charles Mills from the His Vine Free SDA church and I watched a video about Faith, and so listened to Pastor Mills speak of the greatest man who wrote on the subject of faith, A. T Jones. I didn’t think much of the Pastor’s sermon, but he challenged me to investigate this man, whom I had heard of, as some pioneer along with Waggoner, during an event in 1888 called Righteousness by Faith. Like any typical SDA member, I was taught the only inspired writers was Scripture and Ellen White, nobody else.
So out of curiosity I downloaded and read all the personal publishing’s of A. T Jones myself.
Than the Lord showed me from a truly independent source, the confirmation of this theory of faith, trained from the Lord for over 12 years, was actually true. What surprised me was it was the same light presented to the Church over 136 years ago, to get the Church to enter the end of time and allow Jesus to come. But we did not embrace the light, this Righteousness by Faith, and so both Jones and Waggoner left the Church for various personal reasons, the the light brought to them was not developed or published further by them. How sad for our church, but how exciting to experience this new light about faith.
This training of “genuine faith” , as Mrs White calls the term, is not about absolute truth, for all truth is progressive and thus nobody is right or wrong regarding faith, for God saves us “as a firebrand plucked from the fire” ( Zec 3:2) a favourite “precious promise” of mine. What this light is about, is preparing a remnant people to enter the end of time with a practical understanding of the Righteousness by Faith, so we develop “genuine faith” for ourselves, as the Lord has trained me to experience so far.
For indeed it only takes a spark to get a fire going,
and soon all those around will warm up in it’s glowing
that’s how it is with God’s love
Once you have experienced it
You’ll spread His love like a dove
You’ll want to pass it on...
Now the easiest way to experience “practical genuine faith” is to “taste and see if the Lord is good” (Ps 34:8). I pose we teach in a series of lessons how “genuine faith” works in the Christian life, so that others will revive this old light, the Lord wanted our Church to experience since 1888, so we are ready to enter the last days, with a progressive more genuine faith, before the global lock downs begin during 2025.
Now while many of us perish from a lack of knowledge, the experience and learning of knowledge is deep and complex. However experience and self discovery is the only way we learn, being spoon fed by teachers is not learning. Not responding is not learning. Not asking questions is not learning. You can teach advice but never promote experience. Experience takes time and thus we have to develop this ourselves in the Lord by practising this genuine faith. This is why the propensities over our soul is removed slowly as we gain experience and confidence in the Lord Jesus, we learn to trust in His development of character in us ( Ex 23:21; Ex 23:30). This is why we often fail experimenting with “precious promises” because we lack experience, and experience is something learned by trust.
Most of us we drink milk all our lives and do not seek the Scriptures in an Ancient Hebrew context and understanding, nor do we understand the purpose of Ellen White messages, as our Ancient Hebrew translator into English.
So let us develop some knowledge about faith first....
Here is in the Bible New Testament (NT), is how we are saved:
Ro 10:1 ¶ Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.
3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.
5 For Moses describeth the righteousness which is of the law, That the man which doeth those things shall live by them.
6 But the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven? (that is, to bring Christ down from above:)
7 Or, Who shall descend into the deep? (that is, to bring up Christ again from the dead.)
8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (KJV)
Coupled with this famous verse saying the same idea:
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)
So if we take the King James Version as it reads, we have underlined certain important words in these verses
1) Submitted
2) Faith
3) Believed
What do all these important words listed here mean? How does a layperson reading the Bible New Testament, learn correctly what these important words mean?
In the passage Israel did not “submit”, so sought to establish their own righteousness using traditions and precepts of men. They did what was right in their own eyes (Jg 17:6). We might call this righteousness by faith, legalism; and it means little to the Lord (Ro 10:3). God calls these sort of people lukewarm. Cain is an example of this method of faith and it has been common in the SDA Church too for years.
In the passage about “faith” we have no details of what “faith” means from the context given, nor from the OT where words are quoted.
In the word “believe” we also do not understand.
So if you are not learned, what do you do? Do you just trust some learned scholar to explain the important words to you? What is wrong with that idea? Don’t churches around the world do this sort of thing all the time? What does the Scriptures say about this ?
Isa 29:12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. (KJV)
What is the Bible result of humans asking other learned men to “translate”, for them, since I am not learned?
( Note: “translate” is a term we use in Hebrew thinking. It is a broad term to mean how we get understanding from words, this process is called translation, and the word specifically can also mean to “expound” to “learn deeply” to “interpret” ; scholars use fancy terms:
First used here Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue - God is making a prophecy statement that the Hebrew is translated in another tongue such as Greek and English
And used in the NT as the Greek word “expound” or “interpret” here
Lu 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he “expounded” unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself
For example here is the Interlinear switched on and the Greek word for “expound” clicked on, and I can look for all verses using this word in a single mouse click. )
So what is the Bible result of humans asking other learned men to “translate”, for them, since I am not learned?
Isa 29:12 ..Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
Isa 29:13 Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: (KJV)
Notice the Bible explains this kind of learning as dangerous...
Jesus quotes this OT verse explaining the verse this way:
Mt 15:7 Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying,
8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
10 ¶ And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:
11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
12 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?
13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.
14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. (KJV)
Notice Jesus says to leave them alone. Let the blind remain blind.
So who is this Jesus, who quotes the OT and gets inspired humans to write His messages in the NT? Is there a Bible verse linking a Divine Person to both holy writings?
Ho 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth. (KJV)
So this YHWH-Lord is the Author of both the former rains (OT) and the latter rains (NT).
Where does Scripture speak of rain as sacred writings?
Ex 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my “law”, or no. (KJV)
(Note: “law” means “teachings” but the KJV has done a great job using “law” to show how special and sacred the Father’s teachings really are.
2Ch 15:3 Now for a long season Israel hath been without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
So obviously a priest cannot be teaching as a lawyer does with laws?
This has to mean a teaching priest with sacred teachings?
For those who consider “law” refers to only the first five books of Moses based on traditions and precepts of men:
Jos 24:26 And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God,
So that makes Joshua a sixth book of the law?
Consider this verse which uses related words to “YRH, TWRH and YWRH” using Jeff Benner spelling of these Ancient Hebrew words.
De 11:14 That I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.
So this makes the Father’s active hands throwing down as “droplets of letters unto parchment as powers” for us to absorb His writings and grow by them using a process of faith which Ellen White terms “appropriating the precious promises unto thyself” )
Where is this idea spelled out in the place where the Bible should be read, according to the Bible?
(Note: “believeth” is Hebrew “aman” a word meaning “affirming-faith” - so even here where the Bible teaches how the Bible should be studied, the word “affirming-faith” is also teaching FAITH is important. This will be proven to readers shortly as you read further)
Now he tells us to read the Bible beginning from its foundation stone, the rock that followed Israel - using the principles of faith -
So where does the NT writers proclaim Jesus as YHWH?
1Co 10:4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. (KJV)
If you don't do this you will be like the "blind leading the blind".
But why Hebrew, what is wrong with English?
The Bible teaches you how the Bible should studied. We begin on milk.
Isa 28:9 ¶ Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. (KJV)
Milk is wholesome simple food easy to digest, for those who are babes in Christ. We all start on the milky doses of the Bible and begin to grow in our faith in Jesus.
How is this milky growing achieved?
Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: (KJV)
This verse is poetry and difficult to fathom. When you find poetry that is not easily understood, ask a prophet, somebody you know to be inspired, or ask the Holy Spirit to tutor you directly from your own studies. (Do not consult the traditions and precepts of men)
The line upon line, refers to Bible lines, the scribes wrote the Bible words on lines etched into the clay or skin parchment, so the writings would be straight. So we are studying line upon lines of Bible verses, here a little and there a little all over the sacred writings, looking at many different passages.
Consider the simile to a baby? Would you feed a baby the simple foods , easy to digest over and over again? Or give the baby a variety of simple foods to make sure the baby gets all the best nutrition it can? Also what about solid foods that are not easy to digest, also full of fibre which intentionally slows down the passage of food digestion?
What is wrong with drinking milk your entire life ? Well if you are drinking milk to process faith in Jesus in milky doses all throughout you life, that is fine, because GOD only expects you to live up to the light you experience:
Ro 2:15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another
But why would you be happy to grow a little on milk when eating stronger meat, promises are greater joy and experience in Jesus (Luke 7:47 )?
Heb 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (KJV)
So how was the latter rains processed according to a former rain prophecy regarding the New Testament writings?
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Notice the Hebrew OT makes a prophecy that with stammering lips the messages of Jesus in the latter rains, goes out in another tongue, that language was Kione Greek.
And we will soon see "in another tongue" means the message was translated.
But the language was a “translation” because the message went out with “stammering lips”, not as clear as it was in the Hebrew originally.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
The Greek NT is refreshing, but the Gentiles still would not hear.
Isa 28:13 But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
And the Bible says to study the Greek for truth in the same way as you study the Hebrew for truth, a little here and a little there, looking up all the lines across the whole passages on some theme. But notice the people fall backward and are broken and snared. The Greek NT is not as foundational for truth as the Hebrew OT is. You can go back to a Hebrew understanding of the NT, using the LXX as a guide or cross referencing to match Hebrew words to the Greek Words.
But why do this?
Isa 28:14 ¶ Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
This passage suggests to me the Scribes which are rulers over men, where not always honourable and holy in their task as scribes.
Well how do you know if your translator is not deceiving you?
That the Bible words in your language is fuzzy at best, or lies of deception?
Our Hebrew English translator never comments upon translation problems because our Teacher tells us what to do in this matter:
Matthew 15: 14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. (KJV)
Hence Ellen White messages say nothing about this problem. Nor should we. However that did not stop the Divine Teacher from translating the Hebrew words using His own way, instead of the traditions and precepts of men.
Question: Why did Jesus have to “translate” the Scriptures in Hebrew to Hebrew reading disciples?
Lu 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. (KJV)
This word "expound" should be "translated", because here is the same Greek word in other verses:
Ac 9:36 ¶ Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by "interpretation" is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did.
Again, a different English word, the word should be "translated"
1Co 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all "interpret"?
Again the word "interpret" should be "translate" .
1Co 14:21 ¶ In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
Notice Paul is quoting the OT verse
and than says
1Co 14:27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one "interpret".
Again the word "interpret" should be "translate" .
Seems like even in Jesus day, the humans had trouble with reading even the Hebrew, because it was “translated” to them by the Scribes and Pharisees, with their own traditions and precepts of men.
Jesus speaks of this : Mt 5:21 ¶ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time,
People were used to “hearing” the Scriptures, rather than “reading” the Scriptures for themselves, so the “translators translated” the Hebrew writings using traditions and precepts of men. What Jesus is doing in this verse, is speaking of the sacred writing in a renewed translation, that came with better wisdom and power.
So when people explain words to others in their own language, they are really "translating" or "expounding" or "interpreting" same idea, because Hebrew word meaning are broad, but Greek word meanings are more narrow.
(Note: What kind of translating Jesus did to His Hebrew reading disciples is hard to fathom, however we are invited by our Great Teacher to learn this process of a renewed translation:
And using a renewed translation Jesus might we have said
Ge 49:18 I have waited for thy Yashah Yhwh. (Possible Jesus translation)
This confirms to me that Jesus-YHWH is actually a functional description of a Divine Son. Just as the Father-YHWH is. And this is how you would write it, Jesus-YHWH with a space between, it’s not a description as Greek is, a name, but as Hebrew is, a functional descriptor.
Where in Scripture are there two LORDS in Scripture at the same time?
Ge 19:24 Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; (KJV)
Now let’s get our readers back to how the Scriptures tell us how to be saved:
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)
This word “believed” is also mentioned here in the NT:
Ro 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.(KJV)
This method of quoting the OT by the NT is important because it allows simple laypeople like myself to match word meanings in the NT to the foundational word meanings in the OT, the Hebrew.
Ge 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
So what is this Hebrew word ?
Using a simple Interlinear Bible software program, you can read the Hebrew word is “aman”.
It is the word "aman" and most English people are familiar with this word even in English. We say aman on the end of our prayers. So what does Aman mean?
In order to answer this question we need to show readers two ways to confirm how a simple layperson like myself guarantees that the Bible study we do is in fact confirmed by at least two independent witnesses to any truth we wish to discover.
The Scripture tell us that on the basis of two witnesses any truth can be established (De 17:6).
The first witness is the Ancient Hebrew pictures within the word itself, tells you clues to what the word meaning means.
Now to make this witness process simple for a layperson like myself, we went through each word meaning in Ancient Hebrew script finding a single basic function for each letter. These are the letters and the single basic functional meaning:
A means strong. Divinely strong or human strong.
C means walk. Divine walk or human walk.
D means door. Heavenly door or Human door to your mind.
E means “Behold the Person” Divine Being or Human being.
F means secure. Usually a reference to the Father who is secure.
G means twisting. Clockwise and counterclockwise twisting.
H means Outside. Protecting the inside from the outside.
( There seems no I word in Ancient Hebrew letters?)
J means authority. Divine authority or human authority.
K means palms. Divine palms or human palms. Also palms of feet.
L means active. Divine active hands or human active hands.
M means flow. Divine flow or human flow.
N means “over the nations” to continue over usually “nations”.
O means see. Divine seeing or human seeing.
P means mouth. Divine speaking or human speaking.
Q means unknown. The things like sun beyond the horizon.
R means head. Divine head or human head.
S means press. Pressing hard to cut. Divine press or human press.
T means “important mark” Usually a divine important mark
U means “basket of good things”
(There appears no W or V in Ancient Hebrew, maybe came from F ?)
X means outgrowth. Usually thorns.
Y means travelling.
Z means ploughing. Like a mattock that also ploughs.
Now that you know all of the letters of Ancient Hebrew, does it surprise you how they are the same as English letters? God is very clever indeed in getting His Hebrew into another tongue (Isa 28:11).
Here is a 3500 inscription on a rock, showing two letters, the bull and the shepherd staff. What meaning is this word spelled as “AL” ?
The word meaning is “Strong Authority”.
Ps 80:10 The hills were covered .. (with).. the goodly "'el" cedars ('erez).. (KJV)
The hills were covered (with) the strong authority of cedars
Ps 36:6 Thy righteousness is like the great "'el" mountains (harar).. (KJV)
Thy righteousness is like the strong authority of mountains
Isa 57:5 Enflaming yourselves with idols "'el".. (KJV)
Enflaming yourselves with (other) strong authorities (idols)
Eze 32:21 The strong "'el" among the mighty (gibbowr).. (KJV)
The strong authority among the mighty humans..
Ps 5:4 For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee. (KJV)
For thou are not a strong authority that hath pleasure in wickedness, neither shall dysfunction dwell with thee.
Notice how the Ancient Hebrew is the same basic word meaning for all verses that use “AL” while the King James Version struggled with making this word meaning a single basic meaning.
What about the word meaning for this word, written in both Ancient Hebrew pictures and modern Hebrew square script.
“The strong authority secure. Behold the Being!”
This can refer to our Heavenly Father or some other false powerful father figure pretending to be like the Most High.
It is spelt in Ancient Hebrew as ALFE or in modern Hebrew spelling as ELAH similar or Muslim as ALAH. We would never know the exact spelling or sounds as Ancient Hebrew is a dead language, so all the rules of grammar and spellings are lost, although we could make some good assumptions of things from existing languages.
Here is the Hebrew word “elohiym” Notice the pictures the Author has placed with the letters of this word. Also notice the Strong Authority secure of a Divine Being who powers flow, is meant as a single fountain of love, not three independent flows of love.
Here is the word for “the strong home”
Who is the “strong home” ?
Let’s do a little Bible study about Hebrew words. Take these two verses using the Hebrew word “AB”
Ps 22:4 Our fathers trusted in thee:
Song 6:11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the fruits of the valley,
Now dear readers what English word means a father and a fruit, but cannot mean both? Meaning a father is never a fruit.
Ancient Hebrew words should always have a single basic meaning.
Try this broader meaning for AB
Ps 22:4 Our providers trusted in thee:
Song 6:11 I went down into the garden of nuts to see the providers of the valley,
And notice a father cannot be a fruit, but can be a provider
Fruits are also providers but can never be a father.
So AB really means a Provider, and can in the context of earthly things refer to a father. So the Most High Strong Authority functions as a heavenly provider.
Now that I have explained the process of our first witness to establish truth, let’s investigate the second witness, our Hebrew English translator.
Using legacy.egwritings.org we search for “heavenly provider”
The heavenly Provider of all foods will not leave His people in ignorance in regard to the preparation of the best foods for all times and occasions.—Testimonies for the Church 7:114, 1902 {CD 267.1
Wow my first time to do this, using Ellen White with this phrase
Next we try search “Father provider"~10 this searches for a string of words with Father and provider no more than 10 words apart from each other.
Those who profess to be the children of God dishonor their Heavenly Father when they manifest unbelief. The great Provider for man and beast opens his hand, and supplies all his creatures. ..{RH September 18, 1888, par. 2}
And so my friends our second witness confirms we are on the correct track.
You can expect this process, even make a hypothesis that this science of salvation is valid, because an important concept of science is that any idea can be falsified. But beware despite my child like simple process of using these tools, (with all it’s assumptions in an attempt to keep things child like and simple) many SDA scholarly mockers mock. So you can always doubt (Mt 13:34-35). There is always room for doubting.
Let’s try a more difficult but important one
Re 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
This Greek word is "tereo” which is the same equivalent word in Hebrew as “shamar”. Verses like this one
Ps 119:44 So shall I keep thy law continually for ever and ever.
shamar Strong’s 8104 The Ancient Hebrew pictures for this word are
“the pressed flowing head” and comes in two actions.
Now Jeff Benner has no clue for the reason for the noun word meaning. And I must confess I had to ask the Lord too. It’s hard.
So let’s look at a completed action of this function:
Isa 25:6 ¶ And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. (KJV)
Jer 48:11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees,
So I had to do some learning about wine making and what this sludge called lees is all about.
When you place grape juice into an earthen vessel, there is some processing that goes on over time, until the processing is completed and nothing is left but sludge or lees. (Note: this does not imply the ancients added yeast to the juice, yeast is naturally present in most juice situations)
So the meaning of this word, that comes in two different actions is
“processing/processed”
Let’s consider the verses now:
Isa 25:6 ¶ And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines (that are) processed, of fat things full of marrow, of wines ( with) processed (things) well refined. (KJV)
Jer 48:11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his “previous processing” or “processed (things)”,
Now what about the incomplete action of this word
Ps 119:44 So shall I process thy law continually for ever and ever.
Now this idea tells me something about the royal law, that processing the royal law is a process of faith.
This faith process principle can be found from the same prayer
Ps 119:86 All thy commandments are faithful.. (KJV)
So inside the ten commandments apart from the rules regarding transgression of law condemning wicked people, as also something deeper, the principles of faith, we as lukewarm people often miss (Jg 20:16). And thus are found missing, which is defined by Paul as breaking faith (Rom 14:23).
The fact we are processing faith principles for ever is important, because if the processing is ever completed, we would stop growing in the Lord and be found wanting on our lees. The word meaning of processing is better than obedience, because obedience is a term most understand as human based strength to over come the negative aspects of the ten commandments, whereas the idea of processing the faith principles of the ten commandments is about the idea of living fully under the continual powers of Jesus love.
Consider for a moment the Ancient Hebrew pictures of shamar
“The pressed flowing head” when you press into something like the dough bread, it is a simile of fighting. When the faith process begins you have to press firmly onto a precious promise and appropriate that power flow from Jesus unto yourself. Thus you support Jesus by using His words and His power, and Jesus supports you because you asked for this support.
The idea of a yoke is also a pressing of the head, so you learn to experience Jesus who carries the greater burden and you the easier burden (Mt 11:30).
There are so many pictures we could talk for hours on this poetry object lesson, where with “obedience” this is a nebulous Greek idea that is abstract and not based on Hebrew functional thinking.
It makes “keeping” the ten words of faith so easy, if you see yourself as a head being processed as a flow from the pressing of Divine Powers.
Now lets consider the second witness, our Hebrew English translator:
Let’s try searching for “process obedience”~10 yields no results
Try “process keep”~10
After we left Minneapolis, the battle had to be fought over and over again. Time was lost, souls lost, lives imperiled, all because men felt sufficient in themselves, and were not careful to keep the way of the Lord. The testing process is going on with every individual. Every movement is made before the whole heavenly universe. Whatever position men occupy, just as soon as they lift up their souls unto vanity they are left to make their own way without the help of God. He cannot co-operate with them. {1888 1230.1}
Here is some confirmation that “process” might be also a better meaning than “keep” ? Is this a simile? Or a parallel statement?
Let’s try "keep the commandments" process; one hit, not helpful.
Let’s try “lees”
Consider this long context
All his life long, Moab has lain undisturbed like wine settled on its lees, not emptied from vessel to vessel; he has not gone into exile. Therefore the taste of him is unaltered, and the flavour stays unchanged. Jeremiah 48:11, N.E.B. {UL 170.1}
Moab did not know anything of the process of unsettling, and the people made but little moral and spiritual progress. “His taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed” (Jeremiah 48:11). {UL 170.2}
A life of monotony is not the most conducive to spiritual growth. Some can reach the highest standard of spirituality only through the breaking up of the regular order of things.... {UL 170.3}
God desires human beings to be more closely associated with Him. Therefore He takes them away from their friends and acquaintances. When God was preparing Elijah for translation, He moved him from place to place, that he might leave behind the methods and customs he had previously followed, that he might not settle down on his lees, and thus fail of obtaining moral greatness and spiritual soundness. It was God’s design that Elijah’s influence should be a power to help many souls to a more perfect experience. {UL 170.4}
Let those who are not permitted to rest in quietude, who must be constantly on the move, pitching their tent tonight in one place and tomorrow night in another place, remember that the Lord is leading them, and that this is His way of helping them to form perfect characters. In all the changes we are required to make, God is to be recognized as our Companion, our Guide, our Stronghold, and our Dependence. We are to ever be moving, advancing in knowledge, and thus it will be [that] they follow on to know the Lord. The light of His leading He will prepare as the morning. {UL 170.5}
The Lord has various ways of testing and proving His people. Again and again He has brought about changes to see whether His human agents will keep His commandments. When in His providence He sees that changes are essential for character building, He breaks up the smooth current of the life. He orders that changes shall be made, so that His worker shall not stagnate by following the regular order. {UL 170.6}
Let me ask readers from this passage, should we become fully processed like sludge or lees, or be always agitated and processing ourselves, on the go like a nomad, upward and onward every learning and processing the precious promises of the Lord by faith?
In your Bible studies there is always room to doubt and mock. What is the probability that Ellen White messages are about Hebrew thinking converted into English word meaning as a refreshing for us lay people to learn?
Time is short, and what is done must be done quickly. This is a world-wide message and we have not time to rest upon our lees. We must awake to action and duty. Is the world to be tested upon this message? It is then a worldwide message, and is not to be confined to a corner. It must be agitated, agitated. The work does not depend alone upon the ministers. The church—the lay members—must feel their individual responsibility and be working members.—Letter 25, 1874, p. 3. (To Brother and Sister Smith, May 6, 1874.) {5MR 315.2
If something is to be agitated, it is undergoing lots of processing.
Ps 16:1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust (KJV)
Is this not a fuzzy translation, does it match the Hebrew English translator, or is this better
Ps 16:1 Process me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust
Here is the idea that GOD is agitating us, processing us and making us into some tasty wine.
Ps 25:20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. (KJV)
Notice a different word meaning for shamar, keep.
What does this mean ?
Ps 25:20 Process my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Now we have the idea that GOD is using faith on us, supporting us, using faith principles and we as humans are asking for the supportive process of faith.
Ps 39:1 ...I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. (KJV)
What does this mean to a Christian with secular people before him?
Well if we stick to the single basic meaning of this word with two forms of function we have
Ps 39:1 ...I will process my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
Here we have the Christian person praying to the Lord a precious promise, “Lord your words I speak, not mine” (Jas 3:8) while before the secular man, saying divine words, not human powered words.
On the outside we see little difference, but inside where it counts there is a good fight of faith ( 1Ti 6:12 ), and the power of Jesus is being processed by the Christian man because he is asking for power to be appropriated to himself.
So now we have a beginning like feel for the way this simple layperson understands the translation process of the sacred words using the first witness: the Ancient Hebrew pictures and the second witness: the messages from our Hebrew English translator, we can now investigate the verse we so need to understand
That word is “believe” the Hebrew word is “aman”.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)
Ge 15:6 And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
So both of these verses use “believe” in the OT and NT are based on the Hebrew word “aman” but what does this word mean?
Strong's 539 "aman" is a useful way to number the Hebrew word, as Mr Strong was the first person to number all Hebrew words, though he did a fuzzy job of numbering as explaining the word meanings. (Never trust the traditions and precepts of men)
Ancient Hebrew is our first witness for truth, and offers us clues to the word meaning:-
Aman has these pictures "The strong flow over the nations"
It is the word "aman" and most English people are familiar with this word even in English. We say aman on the end of our prayers. So what does Aman mean?
Hmm? wow where does this strong flow come from?
Well let's find the smallest word with 2 letters describing this flow:
The Hebrew word "man" is written in Greek as "manna" and in Ancient Hebrew pictures is "flow over the nations" a thing Israel called "what is it"? they did not know, nor could they describe. It tasted like honey.
The Author believes this two letter word is the first root word for a family of words meaning faith. Jeff Benner would not agree with this idea.
Now let’s prove this idea to readers
Ex 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Notice the best poetry picture there is for faith (my two pennies) "Rain Bread"
Rain is a fluid, a flow, a simile of the Holy Spirit and a simile of the sacred writings of Scripture.
Bread is a solid, a flow, a simile of Jesus, a simile of the support of power He gives us when we eat this support by faith.
Does the Scripture support these ideas?
Ne 9:15 And gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock "cela" for their thirst, and promisedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them
Let us quote Jesus-YHWH speaking in His latter rains, the NT, and to help readers, we quote the Greek word "pisteuo" as the Hebrew word "aman" , the word meaning "has faith in" or "affirming faith"
Joh 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, "affirming faith", "affirming faith", I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that "has faith" on me shall never thirst.
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and "have faith" not.
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
Does this help readers to fathom that "man" or "manna" is the first simile of faith, the support of Jesus with our biological living.
Now to confirm this idea, using our second witness: our Hebrew English translator:
The morning meetings have been most precious. To me they have been a continual feast,—like heavenly manna to my soul. We have met Jesus in the assembly of his people. We have learned of him, and of his willingness to receive all who come to him in humble faith, taking God at his word. We have learned that if we would receive the dew of divine grace, we must allow nothing to come between God and our souls. We have seen many obtaining such a knowledge as they never had before of the true Source of spiritual strength, of moral power. {GW92 464.3}
Rob: There is this suggestion here
In the three-fold miracle of the manna, a double quantity on the sixth day, and none upon the seventh, and its keeping fresh through the Sabbath, while upon other days it would become unfit for use, was designed to impress them with the sacredness of the Sabbath. After they were abundantly supplied with food, they were ashamed of their unbelief and murmurings, and promised to trust the Lord for the future. But they soon forgot their promise, and failed at the first trial of their faith. ... {3SG 255.1}
We should live by faith on the Son of God, as the Son lived by faith in the Father. Says Christ, “As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.” Are you doing it, brethren? We read again, “This is the bread that came down from heaven; not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead; he that eateth of this bread shall live forever...RH June 11, 1889, par. 10}
Rob: Ellen White is making a parallel statement here, which poetry is both simile pictures and parallel pictures. Jeff Benner says half of the Scriptures are poetry. So these parallels, including whole parallel stories all build pictures of the Divine Themes.
Here we have wise counsel. Will we heed it? Here is healed what is the sustenance of the soul in pursuit of immortality. Will we hearken unto God? The Word of His grace is the manna from heaven to all who will eat of it in faith. In Christ Jesus is fulness of joy. “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house: thou shalt make them to drink of the rivers of thy pleasure.” [Psalm 36:8.] {Ms10a-1898.}
ROB: Wow, thank you O Lord for confirmation from our Hebrew English translator.
So we have confirmation that indeed we are on the right track.
Faith is a simile of food.
Just as biological food supports our cells to live forever.
Faith food also supports our behaviour so we live forever.
This support has to be continual and eternal.
This explains why Jesus demonstrated the faith process on earth, appropriating to Himself the precious promises of His Father words.
This is the same as our behaviour is credited as straight when we
have faith in Jesus, appropriating the precious promises of the Father, via the Son and through the Holy Spirit to ourselves.
This process is termed the second birth and is based on the faith process.
So this “what is it:? ( Ex 16:15) is an unknown power substance we hope for (Heb 11:1).
In simple terms Faith is an flow over the nations, Israel did not know what it was. In Greek it is called manna.
The word “believe” is “A strong flow over the nations” and thus the person is “Affirming-faith”.
That is why we add “aman” to the end of our prayers because we wish to affirm our faith in Jesus.
Now notice the reading of John 3:16
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever “affirms-faith” in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (Ancient Hebrew)
Wow, suddenly the verse makes much more powerful sense.
Faith is not based on mental assent.
Notice Mrs White comments upon the idea of "assent"
Our faith at this time must not stop with an assent to, or belief in, the theory of the third angel’s message. We must have the oil of the grace of Christ that will feed the lamp, and cause the light of life to shine forth, showing the way to those who are in darkness.—Testimonies for the Church 9:155.
Ellen White "mental assent" is not enough for faith, we need the oil of His grace...
The great deceiver has many agents ready to present any and every kind of error to ensnare souls—heresies prepared to suit the varied tastes and capacities of those whom he would ruin. It is his plan to bring into the church insincere, unregenerate elements that will encourage doubt and unbelief, and hinder all who desire to see the work of God advance and to advance with it. Many who have no real faith in God or in His word assent to some principles of truth and pass as Christians, and thus they are enabled to introduce their errors as Scriptural doctrines. {DD 6.4}
There are many in our Church who make errors as Scripture doctrines. These people have no genuine faith in God.
To talk of religion in a casual way, to pray without soul hunger and living faith, avails nothing. A nominal faith in Christ, which accepts Him merely as the Saviour of the world, can never bring healing to the soul. The faith that is unto salvation is not a mere intellectual assent to the truth. He who waits for entire knowledge before he will exercise faith, cannot receive blessing from God. It is not enough to believe about Christ; we must believe in Him. The only faith that will benefit us is that which embraces Him as a personal Saviour; which appropriates His merits to ourselves. Many hold faith as an opinion. Saving faith is a transaction by which those who receive Christ join themselves in covenant relation with God. Genuine faith is life. A living faith means an increase of vigor, a confiding trust, by which the soul becomes a conquering power. {DA 347.1}
This passage explains it clearly.
Faith is not just mental assent, as many claim.
Now to the grand question before all of us, What is genuine faith and how do I get this faith every day from Jesus?
First let us show readers the confirmation show to this servant when challenged by a Pastor Charles Mills to read the published works of a A. T. Jones.
A.T. Jones: "Anyone who seeks in the word of God for the specific things which God has provided and then bows upon that specific word for that thing, is asking according to the plainly expressed will of God, and knows that his prayer is heard and that he has the thing for which he prayed. So doing, the prayers will be always certain, the life will be filled with the direct gifts of God, and the faith will be sure and strong and will be ever increasing in strength ( www.1888mpm.org/files/Lessons%20on%20Faith-AT%20Jones.pdf ) (This writing is NOT published by EGW writings.org; not found on this website.)
Can anybody out there explain what A. T. Jones is talking about here?
In 1888 A. T. Jones wrote this passage above, is the clearest confirmation that our views of faith developed from January 2012 until 2024, as a gradual enlightenment from the Lord Jesus, is totally independent from the light given to A.T. Jones, yet we both agree exactly.
Further Mrs White also writes about this “saving-faith” which was really only discovered when the Author studied her messages more and more, and the Lord enlightened me over time since 2024, but the learning started way back in 2012. Notice A. T. Jones wrote his messages from the Lord over 136 years ago.
Question: Why doesn’t A.T.Jones write of “precious-promises” and talk of “saving-faith” in more sentences of his experience? This suggests to me A. T. Jones lost the experience gained from training in the “saving-faith” he proclaimed? He sadly left the Church years later, along with Waggoner who also left the Church for personal reasons.
So the light required for the Church to get ready for the Second Coming of Jesus faded and went out.
The "the specific things which God has provided" Ellen White calls "precious promises". Notice another second confirmation statement:
A.T. Jones: "This is justification by faith alone. This is justification by faith, without works. For the faith being the gift of God, coming by the word of God, and itself working in man the works of God, needs none of the work of sinful man to make it good and acceptable to God. The faith itself works in man that which is good, and is sufficient of itself to fill all the life with the goodness of God, and needs not the imperfect effort of sinful man to make it meritorious. This faith gives to man good works, instead of being itself dependent upon man for “good works.” It is not expressed by “faith and works;” but by “faith which works,” “for in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love” (Gal. 5:6). “Seest thou how faith wrought?” (Jas. 2:22). “Remembering without ceasing, your work of faith;” “and the work of faith with power” (1 Thess. 1:3; 2 Thess. 1:11). And, “This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent” (John 6:29). This is “the faith of God” which Jesus exhorts us to have (Mark 11:22, margin); which was manifested in him; and which by his grace is a free gift to every soul on earth."
Rob: I love the way Jones writes this: yes the faith power comes with it's own works, that as Ellen White says is "appropriated to us" by the Creative Power of God.
This is the second confirmation in writings by A. T Jones, that is totally in agreement to our understanding of genuine faith. This is a fantastic discovery.
Science requires the validation of theories of faith, before they are confirmed. We have this confirmation in a pioneer SDA leader of our Church over 136 years ago. However I am not sure Jones lived by the light he received, as there are no practical examples written of this light illuminating his experiences in Christ.
Thank you Lord for this light of understanding, now I pray others will enjoy the experience of genuine faith and become revived under the powers of Jesus. Shalom
Now that we have confidence we are on the right track, let’s ask readers a very basic question:
What is the functional purpose of Bible study?
(Bible verse answer only please, not traditions and precepts of men)
What is the functional purpose of prayer?
(Bible verse answer only please, not traditions and precepts of men)
Can readers show a single Bible verse putting these two ideas into a single theme, the Science of Salvation based on faith?
If you ask an Adventist, what is faith, he or she will tell you:
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Wow, that is a really good definition, I might reply, but How do you get faith?
The Adventist will typically reply, faith is a gift from God. And they would say:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Ro 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Well done I reply, so how do you get more and more of this gift of faith, say from Jesus?
The Adventist will reply, you get more and more faith, by trusting in Jesus, and reading more and more about Jesus and what he did for us, so that is why we have Sabbath School classes so all around the world we learn more knowledge about Jesus, by hearing His words of God.
I see. So faith increases as we hear more and more about His Words of God. And Jesus was the Word of God demonstrating faith on earth, leaving us an example to do as Jesus did.
Da 12:4 But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
Here we see in the last days a prophecy that knowledge shall increase. The Hebrew word behind this English word is this:
Knowledge: Strong’s 1847, in Ancient Hebrew the letters of this word reads “Through the door the eye sees an important mark”
The important marks were typically written by hand as a cross shape, so through the door of heaven’s home, we look at the cross and the important truths shown to us through this door.
This word also refers to scientists looking through the doors of the organisms to understand the important marks of cellular organization. Some scientists have looked through the doors of our universe to understand more about the physical math marks and other marks we might see through our telescopes.
So yes indeed mankind has increased in knowledge, as we see into the doors of mysteries trying to fathom the important marks we see there.
Does this allow our faith to increase, learning more about the important marks of Jesus? What does the Bible teach about this idea?
Lu 18:8 ... Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
And this prophecy
Am 8:11 ¶ Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
Sounds to me that faith is given by God to less and less people in the end of time? But why?
Isa 10:19 And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
And this is what Ellen White wrote:
EGW: “The young want just what they have not; namely, religion. Nothing can take the place of this. Profession alone is nothing. Names are registered upon the church-books upon earth, but not in the book of life. I saw that there is not one in twenty of the youth who knows what experimental religion is. ..—Testimonies for the Church 1:503-505. {MYP 383.3}
Not one in twenty of those who have a good standing with Seventh-day Adventists is living out the self-sacrificing principles of the word of God.{1T 632.2}
There are lessons of the highest importance that not one in twenty of those who claim to be children of God have yet learned. .... That which individuals need is practical godliness. {RH June 28, 1887, par. 2}
I saw that there is not one in twenty that knows what experimental religion is. {T12 1.1}
There is not one in twenty who knows the beauty, the real essence, of Christ’s ministry. They are to find it out. Then they will become partakers of the rich fruit of His teachings. Ms 104, 1898, par. 16
There is in the Hebrew scriptures another word also meaning knowledge:
Know: Strong’s 3045, “The active hands through the door sees”
When you look at verses with this word you see things like
Ge 3:22 ¶ And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:
Ge 4:1 ¶ And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived,
so the best English word meaning for all contexts, is to be “intimate”
Here is a good example of this word “yada” in the NT teachings Jesus spoke
Mt 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
So just looking through the door to learn about important truths of Jesus, is not enough.
We have to have "active hands through the door of heaven and truly look " at Jesus with faith.
We have to become intimate with Him. Notice how this intimacy is achieved in the parable of the foolish virgins:
Mt 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Verily is a word meaning faith. It is written in Greek using Hebrew spelling. So the word is actually the Hebrew word “aman”.
Here is the same word used many times:
Ps 89:52 Blessed be the LORD for evermore. Amen, and Amen.
And through this prayer we find
Ps 89:37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven.
So the use of this word is somebody being a faithful witness to things said or spoken.
Strong’s 539 also 540, “The strong flow over the nations” meaning in English “affirming faith”
So is there a simpler meaning for faith ?
Ex 16:15 And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.
Notice the manna is Greek word, the Hebrew word is man,
Strong’s 4478: “The flow over the nations” meaning “what is it?”
So Faith is a “flow over the nations” that Israel said “what is it”? They didn’t know. It was called the bread of heaven. It was eaten as food and cooked like cake.
Ex 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no.
Here is the poetry simile “rain bread” referring to the teachings of the Bible.
Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJV)
Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Affirming faith, Affirming faith, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (Ancient Hebrew)
So faith begins when man is born again.
The physical similes of faith, is the raining of bread from heaven, that Israel called “what is it” that was heavenly food and could be cooked as cakes and tasted sweet.
Now Jesus is speaking of another real thing that must be spiritually understood. He is going to explain what the bread from heaven is:
Joh 3:9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? (KJV)
Sadly the word “believe” is a fuzzy word meaning...
Joh 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye have no faith, how shall ye have faith if I tell you of heavenly things? (Ancient Hebrew)
Obviously Nicodemus had no faith. Like a typical Jew he saw only the earthly things and took the words at an earthly level, he did not understand heavenly things and words that GOD understands and uses, that are beyond mere matter.
Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (KJV)
Now lets write this passage using Hebrew words
Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the “burning” (saraph) in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: {who is also a “burning” (saraph)}
15 That whosoever has faith in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever has faith in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Dear readers have you ever considered love is a “burning” ? But the Opposer who now lacks this love function has changed his burning into something else, that sadly was given as a needle injection during 2020 to millions across the world, deceiving many ? So thousands now die because their heart is burning from snake venom - a forked fake love, unlike the burning love that comes from the Saraph Son of God.
Saraph: Strong’s 8314 “The outgrowth from the Head of the Mouth” comes in both verb and noun actions, the idea of “burning/burning-one” We see the outgrowth from the head of the serpent’s mouth, are fangs that make false doctrines of lust, passion and burning. While the Divine Burning Son of God makes an outgrowth from his mouth, to speak and do in human form, for GOD came down on the earth to demonstrate faith as an outgrowth of His mouth, in human form.
Question: How is the second birth, based on faith; achieved?
Jesus does not answer this question, because it is sufficiently answered already in the former teachings. Where in the OT is there a Bible verse about the second birth process, based on faith?
Ps 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: (KJV)
Hear David prays for “truth” in the inward parts of his body, he knows sin and sin-offerings for his sins, have spoiled his body, his heart and mind.
Truth: Strong’s 571 : “Strong flow over the nations (towards) an important mark” has this meaning in English “truth affirms faith”
Ps 51:6 Behold, thou desirest “truth affirming faith” in the inward parts: (Ancient Hebrew)
David recognizes his inward parts lack something, and asks for a second birth based on faith as a gift from God.
Ge 24:27 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his “truth affirming faith”: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren.
Here Abraham’s master is using the faith of Abraham to be passed unto himself, thus affirming the faith of Abraham as his own faith. This is a principle how we can affirm the faith of Jesus, so we can use the same faith Jesus has, as our own... Another way to say this is the master was supporting Abraham, just as the human supports Jesus using faith.
Faith is a concept about supporting a Divine Being. Secular uses of faith, like soldiers under a Centurion, here faith is a concept of supporting a Superior Authority (same idea).
So how did the animals of creation come into existence?
Ps 33:6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
The Adventist may not investigate the Hebrew behind these words, but there is a three fold process in getting the animals of Creation into existence, the WORD is first spoken by a Creator, than the Ruwach - the Holy Spirit does what the WORD asks for, and finally carries the flow of the PROVIDER FATHER, so that asked for becomes a reality.
(Note: I would disagree with many SDA preachers like Pastor Skeete and Waggoner [both of whom I dearly respect] that speaking of faith, claim that the “word” is an agent of creative power by itself. The Hebrew verses do not teach this idea. Love is a community process, not a power in and of itself alone.)
Notice the same process of creation happens with the second birth:
Ps 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God “Family power of elohiym” ; and renew a right spirit “medium” within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit “holy grand medium” from me.
Summary so far:
So faith is a gift of GOD, the “strong flow over the nations of humans”.
What is it? Nobody knew. It is a creative flow from GOD.
Question: How does this faith flow function?

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
And used in the NT as the Greek word “expound” or “interpret” here
Lu 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he “expounded” unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself
to find other verses using the same word, use a electronic Bible with interlinear such as I do for $20 for the software "Power BibleCD is Copyright 2003” simple easy to use, do not need anything more complex than this. Such software also makes all verses of a word easy to collect and publish or read - great for understanding what the word meaning might be .
On the following page the software is shown to readers. Some will find this hard to fathom, for it takes a long time using such Bible study to ascertain truth. Yes it does. But this is what stronger meat means, over say simpler milk (1Co 3:2 ) . Milk is wholesome food packaged for immediate assimilation for growing in the truth (Heb 5:12). Stronger meat like solid food is packaged in fibre and other words not so helpful, so the digestive system of the mind has to eat the truth more slowly and with greater care. But such strong meat promises greater experiences of growth (Heb 5:13, 14) , than just eating simple wholesome foods like simple sugars in milk. Learn to experience the similes God grants to us so we compare the earthly world of poetry to the spiritual domain of poetry (Rom 1:20). Such functions are similes of each other. And of course time is never an excuse in Bible study, “Call on me” ( Jer 33:3) is a precious promise that allows for time, and God promises to sustain you biologically on “precious promises” because “faith” is a “food” just as “manna” is (De 8:3 ) . We will prove all this soon.
So this same YHWH wrote the OT in Moses time and the NT for John's time.
This means Jesus-YHWH is the Author of both the OT and the NT. How does this affect the layperson reading His words, the words of Jesus? It should tell you don’t just rely on the NT words of Jesus, read the older more foundation OT words first.
Where is this idea spelled out in the place where the Bible should be read, according to the Bible?
Isa 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
(Note: “believeth” is Hebrew “aman” a word meaning “affirming-faith” - so even here where the Bible teaches how the Bible should be studied, the word “affirming-faith” is also teaching FAITH is important. This will be proven to readers shortly as you read further)
Jesus was that foundation stone, first He told Moses to write the Father’s rain down as words onto parchment of sheep skin.
(KJV)
( Note: the Cela rock of Jesus-YHWH sits on top of the flint foundation rock Father-YHWH, and is pictured here as the palms of the hand with all the fingers in three groupings, two to the left, two to the right and the thumb on it’s own. This picture was taken by Dr Kim Young, a doctor for Jordan rulers many years ago. Mt Sinai is in the country of Jordan. This rock is massive, about 5 stories high, a human is about the size of the letter “s in stones”.)
So if you want to make the NT more foundational to your doctrinal learning, you have to study first the OT, which is the oldest writings of the Jesus-YHWH.
Than study His later writings in the light of the former light.
So the OT saying "speak in another tongue" was picked up by the Greek detailed language as meaning "translate".
The King James Version reads : Ge 49:18 I have waited for thy salvation, O LORD.
B means Home. Divine heavenly home or earthly family home.
Those who profess to be the children of God dishonor their Heavenly Father when they manifest unbelief. The great Provider for man and beast opens his hand, and supplies all his creatures. ..{RH September 18, 1888, par. 2}
After we left Minneapolis, the battle had to be fought over and over again. Time was lost, souls lost, lives imperiled, all because men felt sufficient in themselves, and were not careful to keep the way of the Lord. The testing process is going on with every individual. Every movement is made before the whole heavenly universe. Whatever position men occupy, just as soon as they lift up their souls unto vanity they are left to make their own way without the help of God. He cannot co-operate with them. {1888 1230.1}
Here is some confirmation that “process” might be also a better meaning than “keep” ? Is this a simile? Or a parallel statement?
Let’s try "keep the commandments" process; one hit, not helpful.
Let’s try “lees”
Consider this long context
All his life long, Moab has lain undisturbed like wine settled on its lees, not emptied from vessel to vessel; he has not gone into exile. Therefore the taste of him is unaltered, and the flavour stays unchanged. Jeremiah 48:11, N.E.B. {UL 170.1}
Moab did not know anything of the process of unsettling, and the people made but little moral and spiritual progress. “His taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed” (Jeremiah 48:11). {UL 170.2}
A life of monotony is not the most conducive to spiritual growth. Some can reach the highest standard of spirituality only through the breaking up of the regular order of things.... {UL 170.3}
God desires human beings to be more closely associated with Him. Therefore He takes them away from their friends and acquaintances. When God was preparing Elijah for translation, He moved him from place to place, that he might leave behind the methods and customs he had previously followed, that he might not settle down on his lees, and thus fail of obtaining moral greatness and spiritual soundness. It was God’s design that Elijah’s influence should be a power to help many souls to a more perfect experience. {UL 170.4}
Let those who are not permitted to rest in quietude, who must be constantly on the move, pitching their tent tonight in one place and tomorrow night in another place, remember that the Lord is leading them, and that this is His way of helping them to form perfect characters. In all the changes we are required to make, God is to be recognized as our Companion, our Guide, our Stronghold, and our Dependence. We are to ever be moving, advancing in knowledge, and thus it will be [that] they follow on to know the Lord. The light of His leading He will prepare as the morning. {UL 170.5}
The Lord has various ways of testing and proving His people. Again and again He has brought about changes to see whether His human agents will keep His commandments. When in His providence He sees that changes are essential for character building, He breaks up the smooth current of the life. He orders that changes shall be made, so that His worker shall not stagnate by following the regular order. {UL 170.6}
The morning meetings have been most precious. To me they have been a continual feast,—like heavenly manna to my soul. We have met Jesus in the assembly of his people. We have learned of him, and of his willingness to receive all who come to him in humble faith, taking God at his word. We have learned that if we would receive the dew of divine grace, we must allow nothing to come between God and our souls. We have seen many obtaining such a knowledge as they never had before of the true Source of spiritual strength, of moral power. {GW92 464.3}
Rob: There is this suggestion here
In the three-fold miracle of the manna, a double quantity on the sixth day, and none upon the seventh, and its keeping fresh through the Sabbath, while upon other days it would become unfit for use, was designed to impress them with the sacredness of the Sabbath. After they were abundantly supplied with food, they were ashamed of their unbelief and murmurings, and promised to trust the Lord for the future. But they soon forgot their promise, and failed at the first trial of their faith. ... {3SG 255.1}
We should live by faith on the Son of God, as the Son lived by faith in the Father. Says Christ, “As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.” Are you doing it, brethren? We read again, “This is the bread that came down from heaven; not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead; he that eateth of this bread shall live forever...RH June 11, 1889, par. 10}
Rob: Ellen White is making a parallel statement here, which poetry is both simile pictures and parallel pictures. Jeff Benner says half of the Scriptures are poetry. So these parallels, including whole parallel stories all build pictures of the Divine Themes.
Here we have wise counsel. Will we heed it? Here is healed what is the sustenance of the soul in pursuit of immortality. Will we hearken unto God? The Word of His grace is the manna from heaven to all who will eat of it in faith. In Christ Jesus is fulness of joy. “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house: thou shalt make them to drink of the rivers of thy pleasure.” [Psalm 36:8.] {Ms10a-1898.}
ROB: Wow, thank you O Lord for confirmation from our Hebrew English translator.
The great deceiver has many agents ready to present any and every kind of error to ensnare souls—heresies prepared to suit the varied tastes and capacities of those whom he would ruin. It is his plan to bring into the church insincere, unregenerate elements that will encourage doubt and unbelief, and hinder all who desire to see the work of God advance and to advance with it. Many who have no real faith in God or in His word assent to some principles of truth and pass as Christians, and thus they are enabled to introduce their errors as Scriptural doctrines. {DD 6.4}
There are many in our Church who make errors as Scripture doctrines. These people have no genuine faith in God.
To talk of religion in a casual way, to pray without soul hunger and living faith, avails nothing. A nominal faith in Christ, which accepts Him merely as the Saviour of the world, can never bring healing to the soul. The faith that is unto salvation is not a mere intellectual assent to the truth. He who waits for entire knowledge before he will exercise faith, cannot receive blessing from God. It is not enough to believe about Christ; we must believe in Him. The only faith that will benefit us is that which embraces Him as a personal Saviour; which appropriates His merits to ourselves. Many hold faith as an opinion. Saving faith is a transaction by which those who receive Christ join themselves in covenant relation with God. Genuine faith is life. A living faith means an increase of vigor, a confiding trust, by which the soul becomes a conquering power. {DA 347.1}
EGW: “The young want just what they have not; namely, religion. Nothing can take the place of this. Profession alone is nothing. Names are registered upon the church-books upon earth, but not in the book of life. I saw that there is not one in twenty of the youth who knows what experimental religion is. ..—Testimonies for the Church 1:503-505. {MYP 383.3}
Not one in twenty of those who have a good standing with Seventh-day Adventists is living out the self-sacrificing principles of the word of God.{1T 632.2}
There are lessons of the highest importance that not one in twenty of those who claim to be children of God have yet learned. .... That which individuals need is practical godliness. {RH June 28, 1887, par. 2}
I saw that there is not one in twenty that knows what experimental religion is. {T12 1.1}
Obviously Nicodemus did not understand faith.
Joh 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the “burning” (saraph) in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: {who is also a “burning” (saraph)}
