Jewish answer to who is the Serpent in the Garden of Eden

We get the impression Jews must receive doctrine truth from the first five books of the torah, as the Books of Moses come first before other books of the tanak.

So who was the "serpent" in the Garden of Eden?

Ge 3:1 Now the serpent "nachash"

Notice Moses identifies this "nachash" in the book of Numbers

Nu 21:5 And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread.

The people break faith again with GOD

So what does GOD do?

Nu 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Where have we seen this before, repeated during 2019 AND 2020?
Today some scientists claim the jabs were in fact snake poison causing the spiked proteins to inflame the blood vessels and cause heart attack and death by blood clots.

Nu 21:7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.

So the people pray after they realize their sins.

What does GOD tell Moses to do?

Nu 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. (KJV)

This verse does not show the Hebrew correctly. A fuzzy translation.

Nu 21:8 And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a "saraph", and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. (Ancient Hebrew)

Question: What is a saraph?
Answer: A Jew will tell you a saraph/seraph is a term for an angel.

Moses builds a copper shaped snake instead of building a "saraph" upon the pole, he builds a simile instead.

So the torah of Moses does explain who the serpent was in Eden speaking to Eve, it was a seraph angel.

Now if you read about this seraph angel in Deuteronomy, also a book of Moses

De 8:14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage;
15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents "seraph angels", and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;
16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;
17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.
18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
19 And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish.

You will notice the book of Moses explains these "seraph angels" as other elohiym powers, that Israel could choose to follow, yet perish because GOD, the true elohiym power opposes these seraph angel powers.

If you look at Exodus, another Moses book you find this false elohiym power existed long before mankind even existed:

Ex 20:2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

So these "seraph angels" existed long before mankind existed because these ten words written by the finger of GOD existed before Sabbath existed, in which GOD also chose to rest according to the Sabbath command, also found in these ten words.

Ge 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested "shabath" on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

Many say the word "Sabbath" does not exist in Genesis. The Hebrew word "shabath" comes in two actions, the verb or incomplete action means to "cease" and the noun action or complete action means "ceasing-day". The term "Sabbath" begins here in the Creation week Friday night through to Saturday morning. One cannot use the term "Ceasing-day" because this would imply, evening and morning an eighth day, so GOD wanted His creation to fit into seven days of time, not eight days of time.

Now Jews and Gentiles alike have proof the serpent in the Garden of Eden was in fact a seraph angel, who was also opposing the true elohiym power as a strong authority due to the angels rebellion against GOD. Shalom my friends

The protective role of the cherubim at the gateway to Eden is illustrated by a parable in the Book of Ezekiel. Culminating three chapters of warning directed to ancient Tyre, the prophet declares that the paradisaical bliss which the kingdom has enjoyed is about to be forfeited. The king of Tyre who, once cherub-like, protected his kingdom, is told that he and his people have sinned, and he is to be cast out and the kingdom destroyed:

Question: Do similes refer to the object they express, or do similes refer to objects they are compared to?

Here the human king of Tyre is a simile of the cherub, a function to protect.

Is this all the simile refers to, a function to protect?

I find poetry similes are comparisons, as Rabbi Apple notes, a "parallel". The human king Tyre is compared to another king who is a cherub angel. Both of these parallels run together in Ezekiel 28.

The parallel is not exact, since here it is the cherub himself who has proved unworthy of his responsibility and must be cast out of the garden, but both passages, in Genesis and in Ezekiel, agree that cherubim have a protecting role.

Rob replies: Rabbi Apple says the parallel is not exact. He will not go further with the poetry because he would lose his esteemed position as a Jewish leader.

I agree the cherub angel did have a protective role in heaven, he was to protect the sacred firey stones on the mountain of God. What are these firey stones , a simile of?

In Scripture the flint rock, the cela rock and the little stones are all similes of beings.

How many religions see the Cela rock as Jesus and the flint rock as the Father?

Do Jews tolerate both rocks sitting on top of one another, as two rocks? Or is the firey stones a reference to the eternal words that promise powers of love when being claim these powers through faith? Do we understand the Ten Words are principles of faith?

Though the references to angels persist in the Jewish liturgy to this day, most Jewish thinkers would probably regard them as merely a pleasant poetic notion,

So the only intelligent creature GOD has ever created are humans? Hmmm? that is a silly notion....why does the Jew restrict the creative abilities of God?

In the Spectator, Addison and Steele remark, “Some of the Rabbins tell us, that the Gherubims are a set of Angels who know most, and the Seraphims a Set of Angels who love most”.

Rob replies: Our Rabbi Apple only quotes others and fears to make his own opinions too public on some topics.

Frequently cherubim are painted blue (representing the sky) and seraphim red (representing fire; seraph derives from a root meaning “to burn”).

Rob replies: I agree the term saraph means to burn. So are these burning ones just another name for cherubs, who are angels after all? Special messengers of the Lord?

Is not love a burning, that is a function of GOD?

Isa 6:2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.

Why are these burning ones with six wings?

Eze 10:8 ¶ And there appeared in the cherubims the form of a man's hand under their wings.

And here the cherubims have the look and feel of humans?

Eze 10:21 Every one had four faces apiece, and every one four wings; and the likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings

But cherub angels have four wings, whereas burning ones have six wings?

Is this a different angel or the same angel but with different functions?

Like Rabbi Apple, we do not know much about angels.

So this is the story of the cherubim. There are many aspects still unclear, many problems still perplexing: but I have enjoyed the investigation, and I hope readers have shared some of my enjoyment

Rob replies : Hmm? So if the cherub is a function to protect, why is the protecting angel in the Garden of Eden tempting Eve to sin? Something is wrong with how Jews read poetry and understand the nature of similes in poetry.
